A labour of love dreamt up by three local women, Patina is part guesthouse, part cafe and
part vintage shop. There's one large, family-sized apartment overlooking the lake available
for daily/weekly stays (and sometimes a smaller one); its winning decor shows off the
trio's excellent eye for evocative, whimsical design pieces. Most of the objects and fur-
niture are also for sale.
The charming cafe serves up beautiful homemade cakes and over-stuffed sandwiches
and the shop is full of amazing finds, most of it sourced directly from friends and neigh-
bours. Guests can borrow a (vintage, naturally) row boat for exploring Lake Evangervat-
net.

This bright, bohemian guesthouse offers two double rooms, a four-bed room, and a family
room with bunks, daubed in jewel-like hues and decorated with Indian and vintage tex-
tiles. Mona, the friendly owner, serves a breakfast of organic bread, homemade muesli and
coffee (Nkr100) daily, and will also make lunches (Nkr100) and dinner (Nkr150) to order.
Myrkdalen
This ski resort has only been in operation for a decade or so but has recently added a lux-
urious year-round hotel. The season runs from mid-November to mid-April and experien-
ces 5m snow falls on average. During summer there's great hiking with several marked
high mountain trails starting at the hotel, a program of nature-based kids' activities as well
as easy access to Voss' roll call of outdoor pursuits.
