In-Depth Information
This friendly family-run place has a series of excellent wooden cottages in a well-kept area
with a river and a lake beach. The standard cottages are great for families, and there are
bigger ones suitable for large groups. Some have an open fireplace. They are slightly more
expensive in winter. Boats, bikes and sledges are free to use. In winter it runs snowmobile
safaris, ice-fishing, and trips in an unusual heated sledge-bus.

At the eastern end of town, Hetta feels old-fashioned but has good facilities and bland but
spacious renovated rooms - the ones facing the lake have a much nicer outlook. There are
also cheaper 'hostel' rooms that have their own toilet but shared shower. The restaurant
opens for dinner and offers watery perspectives and good, well-presented meals involving
reindeer, char and other Lapland staples. The hotel is closed October, November and most
of May.
