In-Depth Information
In winter there's a full complement of snowy activities from husky, reindeer and snowmo-
bile short trips or safaris to snowshoe-walking and ice-fishing. In summer canoeing on the
Ounasjoki is deservedly popular, as is the mountain-biking park ( www.levi.fi ; mid-
Jun-Sep) on the ski slopes: there are decent rigs available for hire and you can take your
bike up in the gondola lift; the gravity trails have a drop of 310m. There's also a golf
course and horse riding . The tourist office can book most activities. There's a free bike
scheme in summer: sign up and ride away.
