Bus 1 runs between the kauppatori and the airport, 8km north of the city, every 15 minutes
from 5.20am to 11.15pm (€3, 25 minutes). The same bus continues from the kauppatori to
the harbour.
A taxi costs around €30; there's a free hotline to order one at the entrance to Terminal 1.
BICYCLE
Turku's tourist office rents seven-gear bikes (per half-/full day €15/20) and publishes an
excellent free pyörätiekartta (bike-route map) of the city and surrounding towns.
BUS
Frequent city and regional buses cost €3 for a two-hour ticket or €6.50 for a 24-hour ticket.
The Turku Card includes bus travel.
Timetables are available from the tourist office, bus station and train station.
CAR
Major car-rental companies have offices at the airport, city centre, harbour and/or train sta-
tion.
FERRY

Dating from 1904, this small, orange passenger and bicycle ferry yo-yos across the river a
few blocks downstream of the last bridge.

Most visitors to charming Naantali (Swedish: Nådendal) are summer day-trippers from
Turku, 18km to the east, who come to the adorable Muumimaailma (Moominworld) theme
park or to wander the quaint Old Town, and even the Finnish president spends his summer
holidays here.
