You'll need to ring the doorbell to get into this chic club but it's worth the intrigue to
swing with Helsinki's arty set. The interior is sumptuous in gold, but the real lushness is in
the cocktails, particularly the Finnish blends that toss cloudberry liqueur and rhubarb to
create the city's most innovative tipples.

Central and atmospheric, this bar is devoted to the heavier end of the spectrum, with lots
of airplay for Finnish legends such as Nightwish, HIM, Children of Bodom and Apoca-
lyptica. Outdoor tables are where the socialisng goes on, while upstairs is a club space.
Beer's cheap until 8pm.

Those offbeat film-making Kaurismäki brothers are up to their old tricks with this pair of
conjoined drinking dens. Corona plays the relative straight man with pool tables, no
doorperson, an island bar and a relaxed mix of people. Mockba is back in the USSR with a
bubbling samovar and Soviet vinyl. At closing they clear the place out by playing Brezh-
nev speeches.
Downstairs in Corona Dubrovnik is open for events: cinema screenings and album
launches.

Not just a geek haunt with internet terminals, this cafe-bar in the Lasipalatsi complex has a
great terrace to soak up the sun, accompanied by DJs on most summer nights. It's one of
Helsinki's most enjoyable spots, with great atmosphere.
