The command can only be executed on a server on which the WINS service is already
stopped. Attempting to run it on an operational WINS server will result in failure.

A database can only be restored locally; the command cannot be used to restore a data-
base to a remote server.

The path specified in the Dir parameter must match the path specified in the properties
of the backup option.

2-7. Displaying All Records by Owner
Problem
You want to display all records registered to, or owned by, your WINS server.
Solution
Using a Graphical User Interface
1.
Open the WINS MMC snap-in.
2.
Expand the server object in the left pane.
3.
Right-click the Active Registrations node in the left pane, and select Display Records.
Perform step 4, 5, or 6 to filter the results, or simply proceed to step 7 to display the
unfiltered results.

To filter results by record mapping, follow these steps:
a.
Select the Record Mapping tab.
b.
Select the Filter Records Matching This Name Pattern check box to restrict the
query results to a single name.
c.
Select the Filter Records Matching This IP Address check box to restrict the query to
a single IP address. Also select the Match the IP Address Based on This Subnet Mask
check box if desired.
