In-Depth Information
1. Click on the Orthographic Front scene tab so as to switch to that view,
and then we can right-click on the Dome light to open up the light editor for
ourselves.
2. From here, we can disable the Dome light and then click on OK to exit the
editor.
3. To take our render, we now need to click on the Wide Shot - 35mm scene
tab and then hit the render button on the V-Ray toolbar.
Note
Again, we will need to keep in mind that as we are rendering at full HD
resolution with all material effects enabled, the renders we take in this
chapter (depending upon our hardware capabilities) may take a consider-
able and ever increasing amount of time to complete. As we are making
serious quality evaluations, however, we should try to avoid reducing res-
olution for the sake of speed here if at all possible.
Tip
The direct light only render we see here is also an excellent way to review
how both reflections and bump mapping are working in the scene without
any extra distracting details.
Reviewing our sunlight render
Because we already made certain in Chapter 2 , Lighting an Interior Daytime Scene
that the positioning of our spotlight was just right, there are only two things that stand
out here as obviously problematic. The first would be the noise that is clearly present
in the shadow edges or penumbra in the pools of light coming through the ceiling
