Figure 4.5 The same three binary variables are shown here as were shown in the
previous figure, but ten years earlier. There were, perhaps, a few more clusters of
black areas containing more women, the young and the old, which means fewer
adults aged 16 to 64 years and fewer males. Had some men left these areas, but
returned by ten years later? Glasgow was also a little younger in 1971 than in
1981.
