In-Depth Information
27. There is no selection to set the Security Mode for SQL Server Analysis Services. The
default mode is Windows Authentication only.
28. Choose the SQL Server Administrators for SSAS service, click Add Current User and
you can also add any other user to assign SYSADMIN privileges.
29. Make sure you review the summary of the installation log file to ensure no errors
are reported.
For this recipe, we are installing PowerPivot for SharePoint. You should
grant administrative permissions to SharePoint farm administrators or
service administrators, who are responsible for the deployment of SQL
Server PowerPivot for SharePoint in a SharePoint 2010 farm.
30. To specify the installation to default directories, click Next. The default directories are
%:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.<InstanceID>\
Data .
As per the recipe, when adding features to an existing installation,
you cannot change the location of a previously installed feature,
nor can you specify the location for a new feature. If you specify
non-default installation directories, ensure that the installation
folders are unique to this instance of SQL Server.
31. The System Configuration Checker will run one more set of rules to validate the server
configuration with the SQL Server features that you have specified.
32. The Ready to Install page shows a tree view of installation options that were
specified during the Setup. Click Install to continue.
33. At this point, the installation should proceed as planned. Unless some unexpected
error happens, the process should have a working instance of SSAS deployed on your
machine, along with SQL Server.
34. Once the SSAS installation is succeeded, the Complete page provides a link to the
summary log file for the installation and other important notes.
If you are instructed to restart the computer, do so
immediately. It is important to read the message from the
Installation Wizard when you have finished with Setup.
This set of steps will confirm the successful installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 Analysis
Services in SharePoint 2010 integrated mode and PowerPivot for SharePoint component.
