Pirate Haus Inn HOSTEL
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ;

)
A-har me hearties! Although far from St Augustine's fanciest digs, this family-friendly
European-style guesthouse-hostel may well be the cheapest and most cheerful: kids love
it! Themed private rooms and dorms are squeaky clean, the location is hard to beat and
who doesn't love fresh 'pirate pancakes' for breakfast? Staff speak a variety of languages.
Jaybird's Inn MOTEL
( GOOGLE MAP ;
904-342-7938; www.jaybirdsinn.com ; 2700 N Ponce de Leon Blvd; r incl break-
fast $89-139)
This older motel has been revamped to the highest of standards and modernity, with fresh
and funky decor in an aquamarine color scheme that works. Beds are big and comfy, con-
tinental breakfast is included and free bikes will get you whizzing around in no time.
There's an on-site restaurant as well. Go for the suite if it's available.
Edgewater Inn MOTEL
( GOOGLE MAP ; 904-825-2697; www.stayatedgewater.com ; 2 St Augustine Blvd; r $99-139)
For something a little different, try this charming absolute waterfront motel across the
bridge, overlooking St Augustine's historic downtown. Rooms are on the smaller side, but
pleasantly decorated and recently refurbished. The waterfront rooms' sitting areas are
unique in town, if not a little close together: great for the social traveler, not so great for
the reclusive.
Casa de Solana B&B
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ;
904-824-3555; www.casadesolana.com ; 21 Aviles St; r incl breakfast
$169-209; )
Just off pedestrian-only Aviles St in the oldest part of town, this utterly charming little inn
remains faithful to its early-1800s period decor. Rooms aren't the largest in town, but price
and location make it a great deal. Rumors of a resident ghost might sway some potential
guests.
