The Panhandle
Country Coast
The Panhandle, dubbed the 'Redneck Riviera,' could just as easily be called 'pristine
snow-white sands lapped by gentle emerald waters.' The beaches are unbelievably beauti-
ful, and the sometimes raucous beach towns can be sought out or avoided as you wish.
Springs & Sinkholes
Kayaking the waterways around Cedar Key is wonderful, and canoeing the Suwannee
River is classic Florida. Meanwhile, there's swimming, snorkeling and diving in crystal
springs, and great hiking and biking in the Apalachicola National Forest. Seek out the
sinkholes of Leon Sinks Geological Area.
Beaches & Blues
Enjoy the blues clubs of Tallahassee, the frantic boardwalk amusements of Panama City
Beach, the glass-bottom boat tours of nature-as-entertainment Wakulla Springs State Park,
and Pensacola's Blue Angels and beach-bar nightlife.
