In this part of the screen you can see a few icons. The first two, Discs and :0, are your filesystems. There will not be
much under the Discs icon as you have no hard disks attached to the system yet. You only have an SD card filesystem, or
SDFS for short; this is represented by the :0 that you see. If you click this icon you will see the contents of your SD card.
The next icon is the Apps folder. This is a shortcut to the applications directory on the RISC OS operating system. This is
where you install new applications and access existing applications. Mac OSX users will be most familiar with this kind of
application folder. You can see the applications folder in Figure 11-14 .

There are not a lot of applications installed by default. That's not a problem; the Raspberry Pi version of the RISC
OS provides two ways to get more software. The first one is called PackMan. PackMan not only will allow you to install
new applications but also will keep the RISC OS operating system updated. Always check PackMan first to see if your
application is available for download. Take a look at Figure 11-15 to see PackMan in action.
