mouse fan, you can use those buttons instead of the menu or keyboard shortcuts. But what
about Duplicate Record? That sounds pretty handy, but there's no sign of a Duplicate Record
button ( Figure 1-7 , top).
Fortunately, you can add the Duplicate button to your toolbar. Choose View→Customize
Status Toolbar. You'll see the dialog box that lets you make the Toolbar your own ( Fig-
ure 1-7 , bottom). You can add buttons for other commonly used commands, or delete buttons
that you'll never use. The top section of the dialog box shows all the buttons you can add to
the toolbar. Don't worry about messing up either. To undo your customization, in Windows,
choose Toolbars, then highlight Status Toolbar, and then click Reset. On a Mac, the middle
section gives you a pristine copy of the default toolbar that you can drag into place to put
things back to normal.
The toolbar's default is to show buttons and a bit of helpful text below them. (On a Mac, you
can make a selection from the Show pop-up menu to show Icon Only or Text Only instead.)
