Seraya Barat
If you're on a leisurely tour of east Bali, or simply want a place to stop between Amlapura
and Amed, the wild, dramatic black-stone shore at
SERAYA BARAT
, 1km east of Ujung,
6km from central Amlapura or 24km from Amed, has a couple of options. The sea here is too
dangerous for reliable swimming but the gorgeous white sands of
Pasir Putih
are a twenty-
minute drive away and the views to Nusa Penida and Lombok are awesome.

By bemo or bus
Amlapura has useful bemo services from and to Padang Bai via Candidasa
(orange), Gianyar, and Rendang via Muncan and Selat (green), which all use the terminal in
town. Bemos to Culik via Tirtagangga leave from the turn-off on the outskirts of town, as do
dark-red minibuses to Singaraja. Bemos to Ujung and occasional services to Seraya (blue)
leave from the southern end of Jl Gajah Made, not far from the terminal. As elsewhere on
Bali, bemos are most frequent in the early morning; in the afternoon you may end up charter-
ing on some routes.
