ranges across the whole of Indonesia in this atmospheric, high-ceilinged bale . The rijsttafel
is the way to hit all the highlights, and for the adventurous there's snail sate on offer. For
the less intrepid, well-cooked soups, sates, curries, noodles and rice dishes are the mainstays
(mains from about Rp50,000). Daily 11am-midnight.

time views across to the Campuhan ridge, this place is run by the same team behind Casa
Luna in central Ubud. The menu is a mix of Balinese, Asian and Western cuisine (main
courses from Rp55,000); breakfasts are especially delectable. Free transport from Casa Luna
(see map ) , Sunday roasts, live Latin music on Monday evenings and jazz on Fridays, and a
daily happy hour with free tapas (5-7pm). Daily 8am-10.30/11pm.
Made's Warung Penestanan ridge; map . One of several excellent options along the Penest-
anan ridge, serving well-priced travellers' favourites (from Rp25,000), including inexpensive
juices, good nasi campur and (with 24hr notice) Balinese smoked duck (Rp195,000 for two).

winning restaurant, regarded as one of the best in Asia, showcases the talents of French-
American chef Chris Salans. The French- and Asian-inspired dishes change daily: splash out
on the Discovery (Rp847,000) or Chef's Tasting menu (Rp1,890,000) for the full experience,
or go for less pricey à la carte options. Reservations essential. Daily 6-11pm.
Naughty Nuri's Jl Raya Sanggingan 0361 847 6722, naughtynurisbali.com ; map . Long-
running warung where the barbecued spare ribs (Rp105,000) and the martinis (the latter
highly rated by traveling gastronome Anthony Bourdain) are the highlights, drawing in diners
from far and wide. However, service and some of the other dishes are more hit and miss.
