Phang Nga
Phang Nga province north of Phuket is a mix of Buddhists, Thai-Chinese, Muslims and even
sea gypsies however the majority of the rural population is Muslim. Phang Nga, however, is
free of religious tension and it is a peaceful, non-touristic place to visit on your way south.
One of the main attractions is the Heaven and Hell cave, a temple and cave with graphic
statues of souls suffering in hell. You can also visit the Elephant Mountain temple, the San-
ong Manora waterfall and the Somdet Phra Srinagarindra park.
