In the Render Settings section, press the
drop-down menu arrow to select 'Best Settings'.
The Best Settings template sets the most common options to their highest
quality modes, but as its default will only render the Timeline's Work Area (the
area of the Timeline defined by the Begin (B) and End (N) markers) and renders
as Frames, not fields. The whole purpose of Import & Replace is to Pre-Render
a Precomp, and then wherever that Precomp is used in your project it replaces
the Precomp with the new Pre-Rendered movie.
For this example, we're going to assume that the final project will be Field
Rendered using Lower Fields; therefore, our Precomp should also be
Pre-Rendered as Lower Fields.
6
Click on the 'Best Settings' template name to open the Render Settings
dialog.
7
In the Time Sampling section, change the Field Render: to 'Lower
Fields' and set the Time Span: to 'Length of Comp', then press 'OK'.
