TIPS
Can I connect a musical instrument or professional mic?
Yes, but not usually directly. In most cases, you need an adapter, either a 1/8-inch stereo
mini plug to 1/4-inch phono adapter, or a 1/8-inch stereo mini plug to XLR connector ad-
apter.
My voice input is too loud. Can I turn it down?
Yes. Click System Preferences ( ), click Sound , and then click the Input tab. Click and
drag the Input volume slider ( ) to the left to reduce the volume to an acceptable level.
To test the volume, speak into the mic and watch the Input level meter. When you are
speaking in a normal voice, this meter should not exceed the halfway point.
