In-Depth Information
Click your OS X startup disk.
Note: The default name of the OS X startup disk is Macintosh HD OS X, 10.9.
Mac Pro now boots directly to OS X each time you start the system.
TIPS
Can I boot to OS X without first booting to Windows?
Yes. If Windows is still the default operating system, it is inefficient to first boot to Windows
when you want to use OS X. Instead, press and hold when you start Mac Pro. You
can release when you see the Startup Manager, which displays icons for Macintosh
HD and Windows (as well as the Recovery HD). Click the Macintosh HD icon to boot to OS
X.
If I reinstate OS X as the default operating system, how do I boot to Win-
dows?
Follow the steps in the previous tip to restart Mac Pro and display the Startup Manager.
Click the Windows hard drive icon to boot to Windows.
