In-Depth Information
Time will tell
As I mentioned in the introduction, Spanish-speakers often have a very different concept of
time. Expect people to arrive at least 2 hours late to social events. When it comes to work
and school matters, the people tend to be more punctual. However, I can remember showing
up to classes on time when I studied abroad in Chile and sometimes being the only one there,
sitting alone in a medium sized auditorium looking around at the empty chairs. In about 15
to 30 minutes the other students and professor would come shuffling into class. You should
still show up on time though just in case you have one of the punctual professors. In this
section, we will discuss how to ask and say what time it is, the days of the week and the
date.
