There is usually a gay and lesbian section in the local
English language publications, as well. See 'Further Reading'
section in this topic. The Marais (3rd and 4th arrondisement)
is the largest gay neighbourhood in Paris.
Religions
France is traditionally a Roman Catholic country and while
most of the churches of France are Catholic, you won't find
them very busy on Sunday mornings. Over half of France
professes to be Catholic, but less than 15 per cent go to
church. About 10 per cent of the population (6 million)
are of Muslim descent and they now make up the second
largest religious group. Protestants number about 2 per cent,
(1.2 million), and another 1 per cent are Jews, the largest
population of Jews left in Europe.
