RIME is a synthetic aperture (SAR) subsurface sounding radar with a central
frequency of 9 MHz and a bandwidth up to 3 MHz. Its lateral resolution is 0.5 km
by 5 km, while its vertical resolution is selectable between 30 and 90 m (in ice).
It has a penetration depth >9 km (in ice).
