Select the
floor faces.
With the faces selected, assign the Blue shader from the Hypershade window, and
you're done! You have a blue floor. All that remains now are the screws, bolts, handle,
and wood railings.
You can load the file RedWagonTexture_v03.ma from the Scenes folder of the RedWagon
project to check your work or skip to this point.
Shading the Wood Railings
You'll go back to procedural shading and use the Wood texture available in Maya to cre-
ate the wood railings, as you did with the axe exercise earlier in the chapter. Begin here:
1. In the Hypershade, create a new Phong material.
2. Click the Color Map icon ( ), and choose the Wood texture from the 3D Textures
heading in the Create pane in the Hypershade.
3. In the Attribute Editor for the Wood texture, set the Filler Color and Vein Color
attributes according to Table 7.2.
