15 Sanitation
G ood sanitation practices are important for your horse's health, your family's health, and
relations with your neighbors, and help you meet your legal obligations. Sanitation involves
management of manure, flies and other pests, mud and moisture, and hazardous wastes. The
more conscientious your sanitation and land management plans, the more productive your
land will be, the healthier your creeks and ponds will be, and the more you will be able to
enjoy natural wildlife.
