Just because the room is being built in a barn does not mean the carpentry should be
casual. Tight doorways and precise fit of walls to ceiling and floor will prevent infiltra-
tion of dirt, bugs, and rodents, all of which can be damaging to tack. The material for the
floor should be durable, water-resistant, and easy to sweep. Dirt floors are a constant source
of dust, prevent tight wall-to-floor fit, and defeat the purpose of insulating the rest of the
room. Cement floors, although easy to keep clean, are very cold. An insulated wood floor
is a good choice.
I like contoured wooden bridle holders because they help bridles keep a good crown
shape.
