oli (bread rubbed with olive oil and usually topped with tomato), including with cuttle-
fish, but it's also a wonderful chill-out space with a designer touch and occasional live
music in the evenings. The shady garden is perfect on a warm summer's evening.
Getting There & Away
Petra is one stop short of Manacor (nine minutes) on the Palma-Manacor train line and
gets at least one service a day in both directions. From Palma the trip takes just under an
hour and costs €3.95.

Manacor, the island's second-largest city, is perhaps best known as the birthplace of ten-
nis great Rafael Nadal and as a centre of furniture manufacturing. That we mention such
things should speak volumes for its tourist appeal. That said, it does have a striking
church at its centre, and there's some fine shopping to be had in the vicinity - from
wineries to Mallorca's world-famous pearls, all on the city's outskirts.
