Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless networking protocol, separate from Wi-Fi. It's also
known as IEEE 802.15. Bluetooth is used for many types of connections, not just with
computers, but also with cell phones, home theatre devices, and gaming consoles. For
example, many cordless headsets for cell phones are Bluetooth-controlled. Bluetooth is also
used for some cordless keyboards, mice, and other input devices, as well as some car stereo
systems and GPS devices. A USB Bluetooth adapter looks very similar to a USB fl ash drive
(see Figure 3.15).
