In-Depth Information
When creating or editing a geographic location, a new box is displayed with the fol-
lowing areas (displayed in the following image):
•
Latitude & Longitude
: The first list allows us to choose latitude and
longitude coordinates between decimal values, or degrees / minutes /
seconds. In
Latitude
, we enter latitude value, between
-90
degrees and
+90
degrees, and related to
North
or
South
. In
Longitude
, we enter the
longitude value, between
-180
degrees and
+180
degrees, and related
to
West
or
East
. The
Use Map
button displays a new box to specify the
location. This can be done directly on the map displayed by selecting from
Region
, or from the
Nearest City
list. The
Time Zone
list allows us to
choose the time zone corresponding to the chosen location. If
Nearest
Big City
is on, when picking on the map, the location jumps to the nearest
city.
•
Coordinates and elevation
: In this area, we specify the drawing coordin-
ates and elevation where the geographic location mark will be placed.
•
North direction
: We define the north direction, related to the Y axis of
the
world coordinate system
(
WCS
). If not modified, the north direction
is given by the Y axis of the WCS.
•
Up direction
: We define which axis of the world coordinate system is ver-
tical.
