The 3DROTATE command
The
3DROTATE
command (alias
3R
) allows a specified value for rotating objects
around an axis. This command has been available since Version 2007. It displays a
rotate gizmo composed of three circles, which normally define the axis of rotation.
The command starts by displaying the current values of the
ANGDIR
and
ANGBASE
variables and prompts for the object's selection:
Command:
3DROTATE
Current positive angle in UCS:
ANGDIR=counterclockwise ANGBASE=0

Then, the command places the rotate gizmo at the geometric center of the object or
of the selection and prompts for a base point:

The rotate gizmo is placed at the chosen point and the command asks to pick one of
the three axes: red for X, green for Y, and blue for Z:
