In-Depth Information
•
Center
: Instead of specifying the first corner, we can start by defining the
center of the wedge. Then, we define the other corner or options.
•
Cube
: After defining the first corner or center, this option allows you to
create a half cube cut by a diagonal plane and requests the cube length.
•
Length
: After defining the first corner or center, this option allows you
to specify length (along the X axis), width (along the Y axis), and height
(along the Z axis) of the wedge, in this order.
•
2Point
: The height of the wedge can be defined by specifying two points.
Exercise 5.1
To practice with these objects, we are going to create the basic shapes to construct
a building similar to a cathedral.
1. We start a new drawing and create a layer called
3D-CATHEDRAL
; apply
the green color and make it
Current
.
2. We create a box with length
100
, width
40
, and height
45
. The first corner
can be at the origin and the opposite corner at
100,40,45
.
3. We create another box whose center is at the middle of the top face. We
specify the
Center
option and use the
Otrack
function to find the center
of the top face. Another way to find the center is to apply individually
3D
Osnap Center of face
(
Ctrl
and mouse right button). Then the opposite
corner is
@15,15,20
. Later, we will combine these boxes.
4. Again with
BOX
, we create one tower with the dimensions
10,10,30
at
one of the top corners.
5. We copy the last box to the other's front top corner.
