The Cliffs of Moher
Technically, these world-famous natural landmarks are part of County Clare, and there-fore
should be in the section on Munster rather than Connacht. But the best way to explore the
Burren and the Cliffs of Moher is from a base of operations in Galway, so we've included
them here for the sake of convenience. Like Connemara, these regions are reachable by day
tours that leave every morning from Galway, but you can also find local accommodations
and stay for a few days if you really want to settle in and absorb as much of this incredible
landscape as possible.
These stunning shale formations tower dramatically over the pounding waves of Galway
