Pass to the right of the house, then bear left on a track towards farm
outbuildings. Continue along the right-hand side of two large barns. Bey-
ond the second of these a grassy track starts up a slope, but after a few
paces go through a gate on your left and follow a narrow path into wood-
land. Cross a footbridge over a stream, then up a slope into a meadow.
Bear left and you will soon come to an upright stone marker displaying the
acorn symbol of a national trail, with the legend: 'Bath 55' on one side,
'Chipping Campden 47' on the other.
Continue up the slope to a pair of gates on either side of a farm track.
Through the second of these bear left, and on coming to the field boundary
leave it by mounting a few steps and passing through another gate onto
the narrow Jenkin's Lane. Walk up the lane to its junction with the A4173
Gloucester-to-Stroud road near the Edgemoor Inn (the village of Edge lies
a short distance along this road to the right).
Turn right along the pavement for a few paces, then cross the road with
great care to a gate opposite the pub. The waymarked path now takes you
