down its left-hand side, then go through a kissing gate and along an en-
closed footpath at the back of houses, before emerging to an open sloping
meadow. Walk down this to another kissing gate near the corner of a ten-
nis court, then continue along the lefthand edge of a meadow for about 50
metres. Here you veer half-right to the bottom right-hand corner where
you'll find another gate. The continuing path takes you over a stream and
onto a track by the 17th-century grey stone Washbrook Farm, a former
cloth mill that later changed to milling flour, but does neither now (grid
ref: 857095).
