We shall see that in the absence of an MDM approach,
attempts to rectify the quality defects do not bring sufficient
gains. First, though, it is important to define more precisely
the “data quality” concept. More often than not, experts in
this discipline do not take into account the determining
aspects of time management, context management, and
version management that influence data content.

The quality of a piece of data can be measured by its
meaning and its value.
