Table A.1. Address standards for sample countries
Once the semantic model has been validated, a derivation
towards the logical model occurs in order to take into
particular account the loose coupling of data (with the help of
data categories), their formal naming and performances.
A.1. The semantic model
− The Period class specifies the periods of address
validity.
− The Object class is an abstraction of real world objects:
person, building, organization, material assets, etc. All these
objects are susceptible to have addresses.
− The Site concept enables the declaration of several
expressions in a same address depending on the language.
This need appears for certain multi-language countries, for
instance Belgium. The qualifying attribute language ,
attached to the Site class, enables the expression of this
mechanism. This possibility could also be useful for the
alternative representations of the address, for example in an
electronic language.
It is necessary to note that Site is an associative class
between an object and a period. Consequently, each site
instance only exists for one and only one value concept
[ Object , Period ].
