Two forms of dashes are desirable:

desirable to “hang” punctuation at the

Avoid typing three periods with spaces
between to make an ellipsis. Ellipses can
be made by typing option + semicolon.
Alternately, use three periods separated
by nonbreaking thin spaces between, with
breaking thin spaces before and after.
