One may c onsider art as a way to communicate
and express ideas, concepts, and related emotions
through their visual representation. The design
instruction in the context of art uses skills and
shares experiences to convey knowledge, produce
aesthetic result, and engage learners' emotions.
Thinking in terms of design is a creative process
based around the building up of ideas, and a way to
apply design methodologies to instruction (p. 55).
Design
Dictionaries define the notion of 'Design' as a
plan, layout, mockup, model, but also the product
of such planning, a project, arrangement, and
enterprise. Many hold that the design process is
a problem-solving process. Making a good data
graphics requires diverse skills - the visual-artistic,
empirical-statistical, and mathematical. In his
topic entitled “Sciences of the Artificial” Herbert
Simon (1996/1969) wrote,
