The only way I can describe Izhcayluma is as a high-end backpacker resort. They offer
every amenity and service a traveler would need, and the beautifully structured grounds
allow you to ease into the Vilcabamba attitude of relaxation. Their cabins resemble tree
houses and have private terraces with hammocks. Highlights are the restaurant and spa.

The Madre Tierra Eco-Resort has been heralded in the sustainable tourism community as
a pioneer in the field. The service there is unparalleled, and the resort itself is a dream des-
tination that would impress the most discerning of travelers. Their approach is to blend
harmoniously with the environment and the loud adobe structures (works of art in and of
themselves) and general use of construction incorporating mostly natural materials shows
how well they succeed in that effort. Hands down the best option in town.
