» Travellers from outside the EU can import or export duty-free a maximum of
200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco; 2L of still table
wine; 1L of spirits or 2L of fortified wine, sparkling wine or liqueurs; 60mL of
perfume; 250mL of eau de toilette; and €175 worth of all other goods (includ-
ing gifts and souvenirs).
Discount Cards
If you intend to visit several museums during your stay, you might consider
purchasing a Prague Card , which offers free or discounted entry to around
50 sights. Included are Prague Castle, the Old Town Hall, the National Gallery
museums, the Petřín Lookout Tower and Vyšehrad. Note that the pass does
not include the Prague Jewish Museum.
The pass is available for two to four days, starting at 880/580Kč per adult/
child for two days. Cards can be purchased at Prague Welcome ( 221 714
444; www.praguewelcome.cz ; Old Town Hall, Staroměstské náměstí 5; 9am-7pm;
Staroměstská) offices as well as some hotels. You can buy the card online at
www.praguecitycard.com . Passes purchased online have the option to
buy unlimited public transport, though prices are about the same as you would
pay normally.
Electricity
Electricity in Prague is 230V, 50Hz AC. Outlets have the standard European
socket with two small round holes and a protruding earth (ground) pin. If you
have a different plug, bring an adapter. North American 110V appliances will
also need a transformer if they don't have built-in voltage adjustment.
