The town's leading museum has a permanent collection of the works of Max
Švabinský (born in Kroměříž in 1873), the designer of many of Czechoslovakia's
early postage stamps. Also worth seeing are Švabinský's lunettes (arched paintings)
on the walls of the Franciscan monastery that now houses the Hotel Octárna. (

This cute-and-cosy subterranean space just off Velké náměstí offers good-value Czech
