To find the cemetery, walk out Brněnská and look for a sign leading off to the right.
Additionally, an 'instructive trail' runs through the Jewish Quarter, with information
plaques in English. You can pick it up at the end of Husova near Alfonse Muchy.

(Kozí hrádek; Goat Hill; tower 20Kč; tower 9am-6pm May-Sep) Goat Hill is topped with an
abandoned 15th-century lookout tower offerring stunning views over the Old
Town. To find it, walk uphill from the Jewish Cemetery, following a red-marked trail.
Note the tower keeps irregular hours: it's only open when the flag is flying. But even
if the tower is closed, the views from the hilltop are spectacular.

(Svatý kopeček; Gernerála Svobody) Another uphill venture is to scale the 1km path up
this 363m peak, through a nature reserve and past grottos depicting the Stations of the
Cross, to the compact Church of St Sebastian . The blue-marked trail begins at
the bottom of the main square on Svobody. The whitewashed church and the lime-
stone on the hill give it a Mediterranean ambience.

9am-5pm Tue-Sun Apr, May, Sep & Oct) The Dietrichstein family mausoleum occupies the
former St Anne's Church. The front of the building features a remarkable baroque
facade ‒ the work of Austrian master Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach ‒ dating
from the early 18th century. Dating from 1617 to 1852, the tombs hold the remains of
45 family members.

(náměstí) Mikulov is filled with beautiful buildings, many still sporting impressive
Renaissance and baroque facades. The main square, called simply 'náměstí' (square),
has many houses of interest, including the Town Hall at No 1 and the sgraffitoed

A pleasant way to visit smaller, local vineyards across the rolling countryside is by bi-
cycle on the Mikulov Wine Trail. The tourist office can recommend a one-day ride
