Where to Stay
Neighbourhood For
Against
Very convenient for the
castle, and generally a quiet
and peaceful neighbour-
hood.
Limited choice of restaur-
ants, few bars, and a long
walk uphill from the Malá
Strana nightlife.
Prague Castle &
Hradčany
In the thick of things, close

stops.
Staré Město
Central, with good transport
connections and a vast
choice of eating places, and
handy for the main train sta-
tion.
The prime area for visiting
stag parties, so can be
noisy at nights, and in
parts slightly seedy.
Nové Město
Classy neighbourhood with
often spacious and elegant
accommodation, excellent
restaurants and sophistic-
ated nightlife.
Few attractions in the im-
mediate area, and a bit of
a hike from the city centre.
Vinohrady &
Vršovice
Competitively priced ac-
commodation; though it
feels out of the centre, it's
only three or four tram stops
Some parts look a bit
rough and run-down; can
be noisy on main streets.
Lots of steep hills and long
