the F key. A face is created. When working in Edge select mode, you only need to select two opposing
edges in order for Blender to understand how to create the face. If you were to select two edges that
shared a vertex, pressing the F key would create a triangular face, bridging the two loose vertices.
To create the last face before we move on to some more efficient techniques, we'll use the C-key selec-
tion brush. Press the C key and the cursor turns into a circle. This circle is the selection brush, and it can
be grown or shrunk by spinning the mouse wheel. You “paint” a selection with it by holding down the
LMB while dragging across your mesh. You “erase” from the selection by dragging with the MMB. A
common technique when building faces is to use the C key, then adjust the size of the brush so that it
covers all four vertices of the face you want to create. Give a single LMB click to select all four at once,
then an RMB click to leave brush selection mode. Press the F key and create the face, bringing you to
the final state of our little polygon-by-polygon experiment, as shown in Figure 4.10 .
