to a double-headed arrow. Left mouse button (LMB) clicking and dragging on that border resizes the
windows on either side of it. Just by dragging the boundaries around, you can arrive at an interface that
looks strikingly different from the default, shown in Figure 2.2 .
It barely seems like the same thing, does it? And yet, it is. It is probably not as useful as the original, but
the reconfigurability is the point. If you ever need a little more screen real estate for a set of buttons or
a particular view, you can grant it immediately and quite reversibly by dragging view boundaries.
Headers
Each window is eligible for a header . Headers contain controls and menus specific to the contents of the
window. In Figure 2.1 the headers are the dark gray horizontal bands. Header controls generally pertain
to how the information in the accompanying window is displayed, although they sometimes have buttons
