The train station is located around 9km east of the centre. Minibuses (T1000) meet ar-
riving trains or you can take a taxi (T10,000). Buses to the train station leave from the
car park opposite the train ticket office.

Imagine a compact grid of poorly lit streets, a hotel sign in neon flickering eerily on and
off and no signs of life. That's Bulgan at night, its vibe of ample appeal to Hitchcock and
Stephen King fans. During the day, it's a laidback little place with a grassy pine-clad
park in the middle of town and a lazy main street where you are just as likely to see a
horseman as you are a passing vehicle. Bulgan's dilapidated charm makes it an offbeat
stopover if you are travelling between Mörön and Ulaanbaatar.
