Connecting to Essbase
Obviously, connecting to the Essbase database is one of the first tasks you should
perform. Otherwise there isn't much you can do, except the regular old, boring
Microsoft Excel tasks. To establish a connection to the appropriate Essbase database,
simply follow the steps here.
Connecting to Essbase from Microsoft Excel
What could be easier than connecting to your Essbase database right from your
favorite data analysis tool? Does it get any better? Once you become familiar with
the Essbase Add-in for Microsoft Excel and all of its myriad features, we just know
you will agree.
1.
From the Microsoft Excel main menu bar click on
Essbase
|
Connect…
.

The
Essbase System Login
screen will appear as shown:

Enter the appropriate
Server
name, your
Username,
and the
Password
assigned to your ID. Once completed, click
OK
.

If your password has expired, the system will inform you of that fact and allow
you to choose a new password. You may also change your password at any
time by clicking on the
Change Password
button after any successful login.
5.
Once you have entered the correct password, you will then be shown
the list of Essbase
Application/Database
that your ID login has access
to on the server you selected.
