In-Depth Information
The computational complexity is less important than other approaches based on
the generation of buffer states transition probabilities matrix. In other words, the
computational complexity of the proposed method in this paper is independent
from the buffers' sizes.
Future extension of this work may be the adaptation of this approach to the
analysis of more complex production systems such as series-parallel structures or
split and merge systems. Ouazene et al. [14] have established the eciency of the
equivalent machine method in the evaluation of the performance of a buffered
merge production system which consists of two parallel machines on the first
stage and one machine on the second one.
