between 1508 and 1512. He returned between 1535 and 1541 to paint another masterpiece,
“The Last Judgment”. His artwork has been a strong draw for millions of visitors since his
works were first revealed over 500 years ago.
Other Renaissance painters left their mark here, including Sandro Botticelli, Domenico
Ghirlandaio and Pietro Perugino.
The Sistine Chapel is one of the 54 galleries located on the Vatican Museum visitor's route,
and continues to be one of the most popular attractions within the walls of the Vatican City.
