Upgrade with DMO
Now that you have (finally) finished the tasks required to prepare for a successful migra-
tion, it is time to begin the DMO process. The steps used to complete the world's largest
DMO migration are included in this section.
1. Create temporary mount for <SID>adm in the BW on HANA system.
2. In the BW on HANA system, configure the SAPup_add.par file. Save the file in the
/usr/sap/BDA /SUM/abap/bin directory. Use the following code for the file:
# Activation of HANA Mass Import
/clonepar/imp/procenv = HDB_MASSIMPORT=YES
# For creation of primary key after the import
/clonepar/indexcreation = after_load
#Forcing an error in order to repeat the migration phase
/clone/fakebadcounts = AVERS,USR01
# To change the HANA DB schema
/migrate/targetschemasid = BIW/ORA/update_spacestat=0
3. Configure the BW on HANA system to use a local copy of the hosts file by removing
the symbolic link for /etc/hosts and replacing the mapping of the hostname sapd<SID>
to the IP address.
4. Schedule nmon statistics capture in the interim BW system.
5. Confirm the environment variable HDB_MASSIMPORT = YES is set in the BW on
HANA system before starting SUM.
6. Start the SUM for DMO user interface in the interim BW and specify the correct
download directory and stack.xml file: http://<server>.<domain>.<exe>:1128/lmsl/up-
grade/<SID>/doc/guide.
7. In SUM for DMO, proceed with the extraction workflow (Phase 1) until missing notes
are found. Perform the following steps:
a. Enter passwords for DDIC, DS, and <SID>adm.
b. Enter migration key.
8. Apply missing SAP Notes identified by SUM for DMO.
