The industrial aspects of an area provide important motivation for travel. A large proportion of
travelers, particularly international travelers, are intellectually curious about the economy of any state
or country. They are interested in the country

s industry, commerce, manufactured products, and
economic base.
Industry tours are a good way to develop an
interest in the culture of the area and provide a
potential market for the product being made.
Tourist organizations should encourage tours to
factories or processing plants when such visits
are appropriate and pleasant experiences. Lists of
such industrial installations can be maintained by
tourist promotional organizations, chambers of
commerce, resort hotels, motels, restaurants, or
other establishments or service organizations
where tourist contacts are made.
Industrialists from one country are often
interested in the industry of another. Group tours
can be organized for manufacturers of a particu-
lar product who visit another country to see how
the manufacture of that or a similar product is
accomplished. Such visits are mutually bene cial
